With the popularization of the Underground Cable Installation Solution, the construction of the basic network architecture has been accelerated. But there will be some problems during construction. For example, the resistance of Air Blowing Micro Cable in Microduct is a bit large. It will affect the external structure of the Air Blowing Micro Cable and affect the normal communication of the line. The normal service life of an average fiber optic cable is well over 30 years, but it sometimes fails prematurely. 90% of the reasons are caused by installation damage.
Therefore, the use of lubricants in the laying of Air Blowing Micro Cable and Microduct is an effective way to reduce friction. With the continuous extension of the laying length of the Air Blowing Micro Cable, the number of cores of the Air Blowing Micro Cable continues to increase, which puts forward corresponding requirements for the laying project. In the case of reducing the friction force on the pipeline, the use of blowing cable lubricant greatly reduces the friction force generated by the contact between the Air Blowing Micro Cable and the pipeline. And the lubricant also needs to be used before and during construction, as shown in the figure below.
FIG1-Pour lubricant into Microduct prior to application.
FIG2-During the construction of the Air Blowing Micro Cable, pour the lubricant into the Fiberblowing Machines and follow the Air Blowing Micro Cable into the microduct.
After a lot of construction experience, we have come to a conclusion on how to use the correct amount of lubricant in the construction to achieve the best lubrication effect.FCST offers the microduct cable placing lubrication estimate shown in Table 1 to place microduct cable in various size microducts. Pour approximately 75% of the lubricant indicated in Table 1 directly into the micro-duct ahead of the missile with the remainder of the lubricant being placed on the cable during the placing operation.
Table 1-Approximate Volume of Lubrication Required For Cable Jetting in Various Size Microducts
Microduct Size(OD/ID,mm) | Amount of Lubrication Required Per 100m |
14/12mm | 30.06ml |
12/10mm | 23.38ml |
10/8mm | 16.7ml |
8/6mm | 13.36ml |
7/5mm | 13.36ml |
5/3.5mm | 10.02ml |
Note:the actual quantity of lubrication used on any placing operation varies and is dependent upon the size, condition, and wall type of the microduct and the material in the duct and cable jacket.
The cable blowing lubricant provided by FCST is made from a variety of non-irritating and non-corrosive raw materials, and is a milky white thick liquid. After the water volatilizes, the lubricating material can adhere to the surface of the cable object for a long time to form a layer of lubricating film, which can protect the surface of the Air Blowing Micro Cable and the inner wall of the pipe, reduce the coefficient of friction and reduce the resistance. And increase the traction transmission speed, improve the laying speed of Air Blowing Micro Cable, reduce the damage rate of Air Blowing Micro Cable, improve labor productivity and reduce costs. It can also be used for pulling cables at room temperature, which is convenient to use, easy to clean, non-polluting, and will not stick to skin and clothing. Excellent lubricating properties greatly reduce the pulling force required for cables to pass through conduits and corners.
